THE NEW VALLEY RUN IN GASCHURN
The community of Gaschurn and
the Silvretta Montafon tried
for almost 30 years to establish
a snow-covered downhill run.
The desired extension to the existing ski
run to create snow-covered Slope 60 finally
came to pass in summer 2020. It leads from
the Versettla Bahn summit station past the
middle station and to the valley station in
Gaschurn.
Not only are the waiting times at the middle
station of the Versettla Bahn a thing of
the past during the descent, but the new
piste is also an attractive bad weather option
due to its routing. Thanks to the forest,
the route is protected from the weather and
is also accessible when wind and weather
further up the mountain don’t play along.
The new piste has the clear aim of revitalising
the catering and accommodation facilities on
the valley run and in the whole of Gaschurn –
and perhaps even creating new ones. A pleasant
side effect: “Ski In – Ski Out”, i.e. strapping
on your skis or snowboard directly in front of
your accommodation is now possible for all
guests at the Gundalatscher Berg. This in turn
leads to a reduction in traffic, as winter sports
enthusiasts no longer need a car.
