Timaru’s Craig Domigan had the final say in<br />

alarge bunch sprint to take victory in Tinwald<br />

Cycling Clubs, Stoked Cycles, Spray Marks,<br />

48km handicap event around the Wakanui<br />

Beach block on Sunday.<br />

The riders not only battled each other but<br />

also wet winter conditions that fortunately lifted<br />

mid race.<br />

Domigan and his co-markers worked hard,<br />

only finding the front of the race inside the final<br />

5km.<br />

This set up agroup charge to the line, with<br />

Domigan edging out second placegetter Steve<br />

Hands in the final dash. Mark Summerfield<br />

stormed into third place with astrong finish.<br />

Steve Caldwell was rewarded for asolid<br />

effort, taking the fourth place spoils.<br />

The ever consistent Mike Pearce recorded<br />

fifth place with Mike Gallagherrounding out the<br />

top six.<br />

Domigan also lifted fastest time honours,<br />

riding the distanceinaquick 65.22. The juniors<br />

and division 2 contested a 16km handicap<br />

event. Olivia Ewing made it agood day for the<br />

visiting riders, claiming the win in the junior<br />

event.<br />

Charlotte Neal fought hard to hold out the<br />

chasing riders and take second place.<br />

Ryan Gallagher produced his trade mark<br />

tough ride to secure third place.<br />

Eliza McKenzie and Tom Reid rode great in<br />

tough conditions to take fourth and fifth places<br />

respectively.<br />

Sixth placegetter Isabella Inglis recorded<br />

the fastest time, riding the course in29.11.<br />

Janette Hooper secured division 2 honours.<br />

Next week the Club will trek to the low lands<br />

of Mt Somers to contest a 45km handicap<br />

event.<br />
