Kevin Francis Gange was a true gentleman and a
matriarch of the taxi industry. Unfortunately, on
2 November 2021, Kevin lost his long battle with
health issues.
Kevin had been involved in the taxi and hire car
industry since the day he could walk - it was
literally in his blood. The Gange family business
evolved from the horse-drawn Hansom Cabs of
the 19th Century to the historic Astoria Taxis and
then Silver Top Taxis. Only a few people could
lay claim to a longer or more decorated family
heritage within the industry.
Kevin was involved with all things to do with the
Victorian taxi industry and was also the Victorian
Taxi Association’s president for 10 years.
Kevin’s dedication to the Victorian taxi industry is
a testament to his commitment and dedication to
stewardship of the taxi industry.
A husband, father, father-inlaw,
grandfather, and great
grandfather, Kevin will be
dearly missed.
Time can never fade the
memories of Kevin. He
touched so many lives in
so many ways that it is
impossible to ever forget
him.
Farewell, but not forgotten.
