The Evening Membership
Department of The Haddon
Fortnightly will hold a flea market
at the Clubhouse (Kings Hwy and
Grove Street) on Sat Apr 9.
What’s your favorite
flea-market purchase?
Or trash-pick?
NICOLE PETRILLO
of Collingswood
happens to be
wearing her answer.
It’s a paisley scarf she
found at ‘Thee Perfect
Sale,’ her daughter’s
liquidation business.
“It was made
in Israel, it suits
my complexion,
and it goes with
everything,” says
Nicole.
“My solid wood
antique bureau,”
says MAUREEN
PRESTON of
Haddon Township.
She picked it up at
a flea market four
years ago and uses
it every day. “It holds
my craft supplies.”
At a flea market
many years ago, JIM
KELLY of Stratford
and his wife paid $15
for “a handmade
Christmas wreath.”
Jim says “we love
it, and really look
forward to hanging
it up each year.”
While walking his
dog one day, BRUCE
MERCOGLIANO of
Haddonfield noticed
something shiny in
a box of stuff at the
curb. “Waterford
crystal wine glasses
and set of Lenox
dinner plates!”
Cherry Hill’s CATHY
DeCAMPLI is
“not sure” where
she picked up a
typsetter’s drawer
many years
ago. “The small
compartments are
perfect for displaying
jewelry and beads
and glitter at craft
fairs,” she says. “I
love old stuff with an
industrial look.”
STEPHANIE KINNEY,
co-owner of Rustic
Salvage, has fallen
in love with a metal
Walgreens sign she
picked up at a flea
market in Franklinville,
six months ago. It’s
“about 100 years old”
and is for sale in her
Kings Highway shop.
“But I won’t mind if it
sits there for a while,”
she says.
