The Friends of

Hopwood Park have

a lot to Celebrate

The Friends of Hopwood Park have had a busy start to

the Summer beginning with a visit to the Buckingham

Palace Garden Party for two of our founder members

of our Committee after receiving The Queen’s Award

for Voluntary Service in 2021. Sandra Trickett (Chair

Person) and Amanda Almond (Secretary) attended

the Garden Party and had an amazing day and lots of

special memories were made.

The volunteers Friends of Hopwood Park and the

staff of The Tree House Café are now very busy

preparing for entries into the North West In Bloom

Competition for the upcoming judging day on

Monday 11th July.

There are lots of events planned for the summer

including a Social Night on Saturday 16th July

where we invite new and old friends for an

evening of entertainment from local artist

Babalola JR. Tickets are on sale for £1 from

The Tree House Café.

This was followed by a celebration of the Queen’s

Jubilee at the Tree House Café on Thursday 4th

June. The Café and volunteers were colourfully

dressed and decorated, with customers enjoying

afternoon teas with prosecco, drinks on the

Terrace, a children’s royal fancy dress competition

and a surprise visit from Mr Andrew Nutter with

a gift of home-made chocolate jubilee brownies.

Our Facebook Group (The Friends of Hopwood

Park) will be advertising all upcoming events.
