Internationales Chorfest Magdeburg October 5 - 9, 2022 Magdeburg, Germany A festival of international understanding Following the huge success of the European Choir Games and Grand Prix of Nations in 2015, Magdeburg – home city of Baroque composer Georg Philipp Telemann – will once again become a welcoming host for a dynamic and inspiring festival of choral music. The Chorfest Magdeburg, which has been successfully organized by the Choir Association Saxony-Anhalt for years, will be enriched with an international choir competition by INTERKULTUR to create an eventful international festival to connect local choirs with singers from all over the world. Competitions in different levels of difficulty, categories and settings as well as Friendship Concerts, possibilities for singing together and personal education leave nothing to be desired by the participating choirs. A variety of concert activities by the local choirs will make a valuable contribution to these opportunities. The “Internationales Chorfest Magdeburg” provides a platform for an active exchange of national and international choral music, new friendships and unique intercultural encounters.

Der „Neue <strong>Magdeburg</strong>er Kammerchor“ wurde 2009 von Christian Hoffmann gegründet. Seitdem<br />

ist er Teil des „Forum Gestaltung e.V.“ und fand hier eine Heimat für die Chormusik.<br />

Mittlerweile gehören neben zahlreichen a-cappella-Konzerten auch Kantaten- und Oratorien-Aufführungen,<br />

sowie CD-Produktionen und Schauspielmusik zum Betätigungsfeld. Seit<br />

Juni 2016 liegt die musikalische Leitung in den Händen von Mathias Vetter. Im Jahr 2017<br />

konnte sich der Chor als Kategoriesieger beim Landeschorwettbewerb Sachsen-Anhalt für<br />

den 10. Deutschen Chorwettbewerb 2018 in Freiburg qualifizieren. Beim internationalen<br />

Chorwettbewerb Praga Cantat 2019 wurde der Chor mehrfach mit Preisen ausgezeichnet u.<br />

a. mit dem Diplom „Gold“ in der Kategorie Sakrale Chormusik.<br />

The “Neue <strong>Magdeburg</strong>er Kammerchor” was founded by Christian Hoffmann in 2009. Since<br />

then it has been part of the "Forum Gestaltung e.V." and found a home for choral music there.<br />

Today the field of activity of the choirs spans over cantata and oratorio performances, as well<br />

as CD productions and drama music, in addition to numerous a cappella concerts. Since June<br />

2016, the artistic direction has been in the hands of Mathias Vetter. In 2017, the choir qualified<br />

for the 10 th German Choir Competition 2018 in Freiburg as category winner at the State Choir<br />

Competition of Saxony-Anhalt. At the international choir competition “Praga Cantat 2019”,<br />

the choir was awarded several prizes including the diploma "Gold" in the category Sacred<br />

Choral Music.
