Ihr Œuvre umfasst Opern, Orchesterwerke,
Kammermusik, aber auch
Filmmusik, also zum großen Teil Werke
für professionelle Musiker*innen oder
Ensembles. Was ist beim Komponieren
für Laien- oder semiprofessionelle Chöre
anders, gibt es überhaupt einen Unterschied?
Natürlich wägt man bei jeder Note oder
Phrase ab, ob diese vom Auszuführenden
innerlich gehört und empfunden und somit
auch ausgeführt werden kann. Dieses Abwägen
findet aber auch beim Schreiben für
sogenannte professionelle Ausführende
statt. Davon abgesehen habe ich so gute
Erfahrungen gerade mit Laien- und Kinderchören
gemacht, dass ich mich kompositorisch
nicht beschränkt habe, sondern
so wie immer dem Werk gefolgt bin. Bei
der Instrumentierung habe ich dann, soweit
das möglich war, den Vokalparts aus
der gewünschten Klanglichkeit heraus
unterstützende Instrumente an die Seite
gestellt.
Your works include operas, orchestral
works, chamber music, but also film music,
which means for the most part works
for professional musicians or ensembles.
What is different about composing for
amateur or semi-professional choirs, is
there any difference at all?
Of course, with every note or phrase one
weighs up whether it can be heard and felt
inwardly by the performer and thus also
executed. But this weighing also takes
place when writing for so-called professional
performers. Apart from that, I have
had such good experiences especially
with amateur and children's choirs that I
have not limited myself compositionally,
but have followed the work as always. In
the instrumentation, I have then, as far as
possible, placed supporting instruments
alongside the vocal parts out of the desired
tonality.
