Nested at a stone’s throw from the famous Grand Place, the
brand new Radisson Collection Brussels is the culminating point
of a three decade long story of hospitality leadership in Brussels.
BIG CITY LIFE
The iconic building located on 47 Rue Fossé aux Loups is one
of the first masterpieces of Belgian architect Michel Jaspers, to
whom we own the post-modernist style in Brussels. It is famous
for its remarkable seven-storey high glass-roofed atrium. First
built and inaugurated as Radisson SAS in 1989, the hotel quickly
became the destination of choice for international business
guests. In the late 2000s, following a first series of significant
renovations, the hotel was rebranded as Radisson Blu Royal.
Since then, more developments have taken place. Evolving with
the times in line with changing lifestyles and travel patterns,
the SAS, and later Carlson Rezidor company embraced a most
ambitious plan, and symbolically marked the occasion in 2018
by becoming Radisson Hotel Group. However, as the years go
by, the essence of our mission remains the same: the desire to
provide memorable experiences for our guests.
At the end of 2021, following significant renovations, the former
Radisson Blu Royal proudly joined the luxury Radisson Collection
brand and the exclusive club of the capital’s 5-star hotels.
Signed by Rafael de la Hoz architects, the refurbishment unveiled
a reinvented interior. While preserving the building’s distinctive
character, this makeover elegantly embodies Brussels’ cosmopolitan
spirit.
