It’s Gran Canaria
travelled to FITUR
The International Tourism Fair, FITUR, was held last month in Madrid. Together
with the ITB in Berlin and the WTM in London, the fair is one of the
top three annual tourism fairs.
The importance of these fairs lies in creating a space where companies and
professionals from the tourism industry are able to meet in order to establish
commercial relationships, learn about recent trends and the latest news in
the market, exchange knowledge and establish collaboration agreements.
FITUR is the perfect platform for tourist destinations to promote their attractions,
and this contributes to the promotion and development of tourism
both nationally and internationally. It is also a place for the exchange
of experiences and knowledge between the different actors in the tourism
industry, which in turn helps to improve the quality of tourism products and
services.
For this reason, we believed it was essential that we did our bit, together
with the magnificent work of the Canary Islands institutions (both the Government
of the Canary Islands and the different Island Councils) to make
our presence felt, as far as possible, at any tourism fair where we can showcase
the attractions of our island. To this end, we were given the invaluable
support of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, who on this occasion took copies
of It's Gran Canaria along with our commercial director, Teresa Espino, who
travelled to Madrid to forge new commercial ties and establish collaboration
agreements. The fair was an enriching experience indeed.

viajó a FITUR
El pasado mes de enero se celebró en Madrid la Feria Internacional de Turismo
(FITUR), que junto a la ITB de Berlín y la WTM de Londres, forman los tres
grandes encuentros turísticos anuales.
La importancia de estas ferias radica en crear un espacio donde se reúnen
empresas y profesionales del sector turístico para establecer relaciones comerciales,
conocer las últimas tendencias y novedades del mercado, intercambiar
conocimientos y establecer acuerdos de colaboración.
FITUR es la plataforma perfecta para que los destinos turísticos promuevan
sus atractivos, lo que contribuye a la promoción y desarrollo del turismo tanto
a nivel nacional como internacional. También es un lugar para el intercambio
de experiencias y conocimientos entre los distintos actores del sector turístico,
lo que puede ayudar a mejorar la calidad de los productos y servicios
turísticos.
Por este motivo, hemos creído fundamental poner nuestro granito de arena,
junto a la magnífica labor que hacen las instituciones canarias (tanto el Gobierno
de Canarias como los distintos Cabildos de cada isla) para hacer acto
de presencia, en la medida de lo posible, en cualquier feria turística en la que
podamos contar los atractivos de nuestra isla. Para ello contamos con la inestimable
ayuda del Cabildo de Gran Canaria, que en esta ocasión llevaron de la
mano varios ejemplares de It’s Gran Canaria y de nuestra directora comercial,
Teresa Espino, que se desplazó a Madrid para tejer nuevos lazos comerciales y
establecer acuerdos de colaboración. Una experiencia enriquecedora.
