Details: Oxygen House’s Summer Festival, held at Escot Park in Devon, is a private
two-day event for 500 staff and their families. Over 25 suppliers were hired to
supply security, accommodation, water, power, staging, lighting, food, children’s
entertainment, shelter, a bar and live music. This was the first event of its kind to be
powered completely by renewable energy. Solar charged batteries were successfully
used to run lighting, sound, refrigeration, heating and cooking.
Oxygen House needed to create a sheltered dining space to accommodate guests.
They hired three ivory white tipis from Tipi Spaces which were built in an arc
formation to create a large open plan space. Tipi Spaces also supplied indoor fairy
lights and outdoor festoon lights, floor matting and lounge furniture.
Escot Park is a public space frequented by local dog walkers and other visitors to
the estate. This meant extra consideration had to be given to the security and safety
of the build site to ensure any risks were mitigated. Tipis Spaces worked closely with
its client to put in place a build plan to ensure the tipis were ready on time for guest
arrival.

seating to customers whatever the
weather. During the course of the event,
they fell in love with the tipi so much that
they invested in the structure to keep up
all year as a permanent cover.
The Tipi Company’s Little Hat Tipi
offers clients a quirky standalone shelter
for guests. Perfect for those with limited
space, the design of the Little Hat allows
easy access from all sides. However, there
is an option to purchase the Little Hat fully
enclosed, creating a private outdoor area
that protects guests from the elements.
