TERRY HASTINGS AN ECLECTIC ARTIST/PHOTOGRAPHER
EMPHASIZING THE MALE FORM
Theater Arts.
He began work in theater production in
Los Angeles where he worked in stage
design participating in several musical
productions. His interest in the arts has
also inspired him to play instruments
including piano and drums. During
his work in theater, he partnered in
conjunction with another associate in
developing animated musicals. During
this time he met his partner who is a
fashion designer. They moved back to
Minnesota where they started a fashion
clothing business. In developing a
website for this business Terry’s interest
became more involved in photography.
Eventually, he and his partner moved
to Palm Springs where he has since
been creating in fine art photography
specializing in the male nude. Working
in this medium he has diversified
the art of photography with myriad
topics such as wind, water, earth, fire,
and planets. Using these and other
topics the primary emphasis is on the
Terry Hasting has had numerous wideranging
experiences that have brought of the male body. His art has been

MAGA V. WOKE
Woke is a clever far-right-leaning tool for
“othering” parts of the far left-leaning party
as the left “othered” MAGA after the Jan 6,
3-hour WH tour, AKA the second shot, heard
around the world. Before the riot Biden won
the popular vote by 7 million WOKE votes and
more than 4 percentage points
The irony is “Woke” alludes to being aware of
an uncertain future and how to make the best
of it, while MAGA promises a return to the “old
timey ways” as the best way to deal with our
same uncertain future. In the present MAGA
riots were put down by our capitol police and
MAGA remains splintered and disorganized.
Here is a list of controversial pardons that
should help you judge the next election. This
list is incomplete but one we find relevant to a
voter.
First, naturally, George Washington issued the
first presidential pardon by excusing two men
who participated in the Whiskey Rebellion.
Thus President Washington pulled this
nation over and sent the United States militia
westward to stop the rebels from burning
the house down under the influence of dark
powers. Only two men, John Mitchell and Philip
Weigel were found guilty of treason. Later
pardoned and the tax repealed. Wigle beat
a tax collector and his house, but Mitchell is
described as a simpleton led astray by lawyer
David Bradford to break federal laws. Hmm
Many MAGA are still licking life-long wounds,
as others are attempting to rise like the
phoenix to regain power, and if they are
successful, a fearless leader stands ready to
exonerate them of all their crimes to get there.
A pardon and like a free press, is a bittersweet
opportunity with broad, unchallengeable, and
nearly unlimited power that cannot be revoked
by anyone for any cause.

President Bill Clinton
pardoned half-brother
Roger Clinton for
cocaine charges.
President George H.W. Bush pardoned six
people for the Iran-Contra arms scandal.
President Barrack Obama granted clemency to
nearly 2,000 individuals, including 212 pardons
and 1,715 commutations for low-level crimes
These should have set the bar for presidential
pardons. I will let you contrast and compare the
rest.
President Gerald Ford pardoned his
predecessor, Richard Nixon, in 1974.
The Donald pardoned 144 people, including
former advisors Stephen Bannon and Roger
Stone, with a mere 12 hours left in his
presidency and

The Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce Announces Walk of the Stars Palm
Springs Will Now Include a Special Designation to Recognize LGBTQ Honorees
Palm Springs, CA – May 8 th , 2023 – The Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce announces Walk of the
Stars Palm Springs will now include a special designation to recognize LGBTQ honorees. The project is an
effort put forth by the LGBTQ+ History & Archives of the Desert.
“We are so excited to add this new designation to such an amazing program,” said Nona Watson,
CEO of the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce. “It is a great way to recognize these individuals who
have contributed so much to make our city like no place else.”
The LGBTQ+ History & Archives of the Desert was recently established to document and preserve the
history of the LGBTQ+ community in the Greater Palm Springs area and share that history with LGBTQ+
individuals, organizations, allies, and the public.
"The Walk of the Stars Palm Springs will collaborate with the LGBTQ+ History & Archives of the
Desert, and the City of Palm Springs, to identify and recognize the deserving individuals who will be
recognized with this new designation, and going forward new LGBT honorees will also be able to be
recognized," said David Gray and Julie Warren, Co-Founders & Co-Directors of the LGBTQ+ History &
Archives of the Desert.
As a result, the Walk of the Stars Palm Springs website and app will now include a new designation that
will acknowledge the LGBTQ community's contributions to Palm Springs. It is expected that the updated
website and app will be formally launched sometime later this fall. The endeavor is a significant step to help
market the Walk of the Stars Palm Springs to the thousands of LGBTQ+ tourists and locals who visit the
area and showcase the importance of these individuals to Palm Springs and the LGBTQ+ community.

This Virtual Gallery is a preliminary sketch inspired by the warm weather and pools. The model
laying down on the pool deck is T.J. Japon a local dancer and actor who modeled for the
photographer Biron at my home a few years ago. The model in the pool is Kent who has been a
model for some of my other figures with Mondrian designs.
The painting to be completed from this sketch will be in the next issue of Virtual Gallery titled
“Splashing with Mondrian”..

Working with photography in various
formats with the male nude as the
primary emphasis Terry has created
diverse topic areas and applications
of computer-assisted techniques to
create visual effects. These effects
are all directly from photo shoots
with his models and not a Photoshop
application. During photo shoots, with
numerous models which he finds through
a variety of sources, Terry uses fabrics for
some topics he shoots. His “water” series
has models emphasized by brightly
colored fabrics in the water as in this
photo of “Danse” and with the wind
visual method used by Terry as in this
example titled “Dreaming”.
Terry’s whimsical sense of humor comes
through in the “nudes and food”, a
collection of which “lime love”, is one
example......
