What does your company do?
If you are diversifying into
the buoyant glamping
sector, Glampsan supplies an
‘evolution’ of toilet and waste
handling solutions. If you have
selected your shepherd’s hut,
for example, but don’t know
how to handle the waste when
someone flushes the loo or
takes a shower, Glampsan
provides you with choices and solutions.
How do you do it so well?
We have lots of relevant experience in the
team. Some of our people have been in
the waste industry since the early 1990s,
so it’s fair to say they’ve already come
across most of the same challenges our
customers face today.
We’ve been involved in waste as
manufacturers and rental companies,
so we’ve seen both sides of the portable
sanitation business, and some of us are
keen caravanners, so we know what’s
important for that market, too. Above all,
we know waste is a bit of a difficult subject
for many, even to talk about sometimes,
so we try to keep it as easy as possible by
breaking our product offering down into
simple guidance on our websites, on our
social media platforms, over the phone
and face-to-face at exhibitions.
Please give us a potted company history
We’ve been manufacturing and supplying
off-grid sanitation products for the
construction and outdoor event industries
under our www.plasticsol.com brand
since 2010. In recent years we’ve fielded
enquiries for those same products from
the glamping sector; it’s the same ‘waste’
being flushed away after all. Yet the
questions asked by the glamping sector
are subtly different, hence the creation of
our www.glampsan.com division and the
addition of a whole raft of extra products
just for the glamping and leisure sectors.
Describe your brand proposition
We help customers navigate the tricky
subject of off-grid toilet, shower and sink
waste and
offer them
choices. Just
as the best
hi-fi in the world is no good if you have
the cheapest speakers, the best glamping
pod in the world is no good if you can’t get
waste away from it. We’ve listened to our
customers and have come up with a range
of solutions suitable for their sites. We
want to understand customers’ needs and
offer the right, long-term solution, not just
any old solution.
What are your ‘hero’ products?
One of our biggest sellers is our lowprofile
Flat Tank, which sits unobtrusively
underneath your shepherd’s hut etc. to
capture waste for later removal by a waste
collection company. These allow many
sites to start up and make money whilst
waiting, and waiting, for planning approval
for sewage treatment plants. For campers,
it also serves as an Elsan Tipping Point. A
superbly flexible product.
For the camping and caravanning
sectors, Glampsan is the UK and Ireland
reseller for superb CampPlus en-suite
bathroom and toilet pods. The most
popular DUO unit contains two separate
en-suite bathrooms in a back-to-back
layout. Positioned between two pitches,
the DUO will provide each caravan or
tent pitch with its own private bathroom
facility. Sites will be able to increase
revenue and command higher pitch fees
while raising customer satisfaction levels
and extending the rental season.
Our Saniflo sewage lifting stations
can pump waste over height and
distance while the top end of our waste
handling range is a sewage treatment
plant, formerly known as a septic tank.
We concentrate Glampsan’s efforts on
the typical sizes required by smaller
glamping sites: the two, three and five
person Portapura units are designed and
manufactured in the UK specifically for
glamping sites, holiday homes, static
caravans, site offices, site toilets, garden
rooms and small leisure developments.
Hot off the press in 2023 is Lapee, our
ground-breaking women’s urinal.
Any extra special people?
Everyone in our team is special to us and
we all have slightly different skillsets which
complement each other. Whether on the
phone, on the PC, loading trucks on the
yard or meeting face-to-face, the customer
service ethic is ingrained in everyone’s
DNA. For us, it’s all about the customer.
What are you most proud of?
Despite the challenges of recent years
we’ve increased the product range, we’ve
taken on more people and we’ve grown
the business.

you something you don’t need. We’re not
