ARH 416 Modern Art (1)<br />

An examination of the visual arts and architecture of Europe and the United States from<br />

approximately 1880 through the 1960s. The course considers the leading artists and<br />

artistic movements of this time period, from Post-Impressionism to Pop and Minimalism.<br />

In addition, this course provides an introductory understanding of how these artists both<br />

influenced and were influenced by their social-historical contexts. Prerequisite: ARH<br />

216.<br />

ARH 417 Contemporary Art (1)<br />

An examination of international trends in the visual arts since the 1960s. New interpretive<br />

methods and current issues and debates surrounding artistic production and reception are<br />

also considered. Prerequisite: ARH 216.<br />

ARH 473 Senior Capstone in Art History (1)<br />

An advanced exploration of an art-historical topic of the student’s choice, and approved<br />

by the instructor. Students will conduct in-depth, directed research culminating in a<br />

substantial paper and public presentation that demonstrate knowledge of art historical<br />

concepts and research methodology. Prerequisites: art history major and senior standing.<br />

Fall.<br />

AS - Astronomy<br />

AS 105 QA Principles of Astronomy (1)<br />

An introduction to major topics of modern astronomy, focusing on the fundamental<br />

physical principles underlying astronomical phenomena. Topics include the origin,<br />

structure, and evolution of the solar system, stars, galaxies, and the universe. A<br />

Quantitative Analysis designated course.<br />

BA - Business Administration<br />

BA 105 Personal Finance and Modeling (1)<br />

An interdisciplinary course on spreadsheet preparation and basic personal financial<br />

principles. Emphasis will be placed on preparing spreadsheets to communicate and<br />

analyze individual financial information, including major purchases, planning, debt,<br />

savings, and retirement.<br />

BA 120 ES Marketing: Maximizing Social and Economic Opportunities (1)<br />

An introduction to the strategic decisions that businesses and individuals make in order to<br />

create and maintain a brand. The primary objective of the course is to develop tools for<br />

competitive brands at the individual and corporate level. An Explorations in Scholarship<br />

designated course.<br />

An exploration of a selected topic or problem in business administration.<br />
