Putting the Magic into
Sustainable Tourism
THE GLAMPING industry is changing and so is rural tourism. Large estates
and farms all over the country are having to think about sustainability and
countryside economy. Spirit Intents clients are reporting occupancy rates
that halved for 2023, many of them worried about cost of living.
“We lead a little countryside revolution and tell them that the time has
come to think about the future,” says the company. “Our solution is to
take sustainable tourism to the next level, making it more ecological and
environmentally friendly. We are currently working with some large estates to
tackle the decline in the UK’s offer.
“Our projects make tourism more contextual – from pop-up hotels that set
up for a night on rewilding projects as a nomadic safari with tribal costumes
and archeo-foods, to open air restaurants in yurt palaces with open fire side
cooking. Unknown to most, ‘glamour’ in camping is an old tradition, one used
by Middle Eastern emperors from the 1500s. We work with a selected few to
recreate the magic, making the UK (again) the first in the world in this sector.
We bring charm and magic back into glamping.
