RONFIELD Woodhouse Well Dressing Group’s annual display
has been delighting visitors for 31 years.
This year’s theme was
Alice In Wonderland with
all donations going to
Fairplay, a non-profit
making organisation set up
in 1992 by a group of
parents who wanted
accessible facilities for
their disabled children.
In 2005 it became a
registered charity and in
2009 received funding to
build its first centre in
Chesterfield. Fairplay offers
a wide range of services to
meet the needs of families
and offers support to
children and young people
with disabilities and additional
needs.
Fairplay is currently
supporting over 400 families
across NE Derbyshire and is
fund-raising for a minibus.
The group is keen to hear
from anyone who wants to
help them preserve the
ancient folk craft of well

In nearby Holmesfield, the
village’s Community Well
Dressing and Scarecrow
Festival celebrated the
centenary of Disney.
Proceeds were shared
between Glow Youth Club
and 3rd Holmesfield Scouts.
