It will soon be harvest-time. In late August, some grape varieties
are already ready to be picked. Determining the right time is a true art.

and locals come together in Kaltern to celebrate
life, enjoy delicious wines, fine dining, and good

Maria von Mörl — As recorded, starting in
1836, Maria von Mörl began showing stigmata
– wounds on her hands and feet reminiscent
of the wounds of Christ. The “ecstatic virgin”
is alleged to have had the gift of prophecy,
and the ability to answer prayers. She is the
founder of the village cemetery.
Market Day — The Farmers’ Market of
Kaltern takes place once or twice a week:
Here you’ll find a variety of vegetables, eggs,
herbs, cheeses, flowers, juices, wines, and
much more.
The Fountain at the Market Square —
When there’s an event or festival to celebrate
in the village, you can be sure that something’s
going on at the Fountain.
If you love good wines, then our village is the place for
you! For the Kalterersee Chartered Wines awards
ceremony, our village is decorated all in red. But
sporting enthusiasts will be coming for a different
reason: To participate in the exciting village
triathlon.
And suddenly, it’s summertime! This is the Gourmet
Season, with a wide range of gourmet events,
festivals, open-air markets, tasting events, etc.
The perfect opportunity to discover one of our local
delicacies: Polenta (made with local ingredients).
The longest and most sun-drenched days demand
a little cool refreshment: Wine! Our White Wine
Festival at the central fountain located in our main
Market Square is the ideal time to sample many
a delicious vintage amid the sea of white decorations.
And then comes the time of year when only
one thing counts: Water and the afternoon wind.
It’s the Active Water Fun Season! Come take a dip
in the wonderfully soft water of our lake or glide
over its surface with your surfboard. Or maybe
