Laura reached out in the autumn of
2021, with the idea of putting two pods
on her family farm in Bude, Cornwall.
After careful consideration, we advised
Laura to create just one unique and
high-end structure. We put her in
contact with an independent cabin builder and plans were quickly underway.
Laura dreamed of a hideaway that was versatile for couples, families, and friends, so designs took place for
a sleek timber cabin that slept four. We discussed the importance of USPs, so a hot tub and wood burner were
incorporated and it was decided the hideaway would also be dog friendly.
Throughout the build, our team visited several times to discuss ideas and answer any questions. We even
helped to name the cabin, to give it a unique personality. Henrosa means ‘to dream’ in the Cornish language
and we cannot think of a better fit! In June 2023 the hideaway was launched, and we experienced strong
bookings from the get-go, which continued throughout the year and into 2024.

The Red Cabin

The designer of The Red Cabin reached out to
us to help specify a suitable stove to fit with a
pared back Scandi aesthetic. The 4kW Apple
Stack in Mojave Red fits perfectly with the vibe
of the cabin and also provides ample heat. With
options to position the flu on top or to the rear of
the stove, and the ability to be as close as 50mm to
a combustible surface, it is perfect for small spaces.
Inside, the stove offers exceptional flexibility and
comes complete with a griddle plate and pizza shelf.
Wood can be stored underneath and the range includes lots
of options for additional features and colour combinations.
Ekol stoves are designed and assembled in Dorset and are among
an elite handful of small-space stoves fully compliant with DEFRA and
Ecodesign 2022, meaning they can be used to burn wood anywhere in the UK.
