guidance to migrants.<br />
National legislation and institutions are not prepared for the current<br />
number of international arrivals, causing long waiting times in accessing<br />
residency and related rights.<br />
Local service providers lack information about refugee and migrant<br />
rights and as a consequence deny access.<br />
▷ Develop a better understanding of the national and European<br />
framework on migrant reception and integration.<br />
There is a need to take a more proactive approach to prepare society<br />
for the growing diversity - in particular non-European migrants.<br />
▷ Learn how to promote societal acceptance of migrants and<br />
communicate the benefits of their integration with the host society.<br />
▷ Learn from existing experiences on how to get better data on<br />
migration by combining the multitude of existing sources.<br />
Economic migrants live mostly segregated from the rest of society and<br />
might face exploitation and violations of their rights.<br />
