Employer Training Grants<br />
<strong>Westmoreland</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong> is<br />
a partner with the Workforce & Economic<br />
Development Network for Pennsylvania<br />
(WEDnetPA). WEDnetPA assists those<br />
employers who qualify with training for their<br />
employees through the Guaranteed Free<br />
Training (GFT) Program. This program is<br />
funded through the Department of <strong>Community</strong> and Economic Development.<br />
Companies that qualify can receive up to $450 for Basic Skills Training for eligible<br />
employees and up to $700 per employee for Information Technology Training.<br />
Basic Skills Training includes instruction in a variety of entry level and basic skills<br />
such as:<br />
• Applied Mathematics & Measurement<br />
• Business Operations<br />
• Computer Training - Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Access<br />
• Product & Process Control<br />
• Manufacturing Fundamentals - tooling, grinding, soldering, blueprint reading, etc.<br />
• Workplace Health & Safety<br />
Information Technology Training is comprised of specific high-level computer skills<br />
and Advanced Manufacturing skills dependent on the type and scope of the business.<br />
Some types of training include:<br />
• Database Development<br />
• E-Commerce<br />
• Website Design & Development<br />
• Computer Programming & Software Development<br />
• Network Administration & Technology Support<br />
• Applied Manufacturing Technologies such as CAD/CAM, PLCs and<br />
other higher end skills<br />
