Basics of Quilting<br />

Learn the basics of quilt making, from the<br />

choice of fabrics and colors, along with the<br />

basic assembly of the squares and quilt top,<br />

to the completion of the quilt and actual<br />

quilting (hand or machine) design. You will<br />

leave the class with a quilted table runner<br />

to display in your home. Registration closes<br />

two weeks prior to the class to allow for the<br />

purchase of materials. Bring sewing<br />

machine, extension cord, scissors, cutting<br />

mat, rotary cutter, straight pins and acrylic<br />

Go further with your tole painting!<br />

Projects completed in this class will<br />

include painting wooden cut-out angels, a<br />

wooden purse with a beach scene and a<br />

items to decorate your home or to give as<br />

gifts. The first class meets for one hour to<br />

receive a material list and discuss supplies.<br />

Build Your Own Computer:<br />

a Hands-On Course<br />

From the very first night, you will add the<br />

necessary hardware to build your customized<br />

computer tower or desktop. In the<br />

succeeding sessions, you will add the operating<br />

system, software drivers, tweak and<br />

personalize your system, and learn how to<br />

maintain your newly built computer.<br />

Attendance for all classes will be mandatory<br />

since each class builds on the knowledge<br />

and progress of the preceding class.<br />

Prior to taking this class, you will be<br />

required to take the course "Build or Buy<br />

a Computer," a course that will aid you in<br />

making the proper purchasing decisions<br />

based on your needs and budget. You will<br />

need to purchase the necessary hardware<br />

and tool kit to bring to each class.<br />
