Applicable “use of force” issues and information,<br />
self protections tips, knowledge of<br />
civil liability issues, and information on<br />
various gun permits are the focus of this<br />
course. It will also provide the student<br />
with four hours of hands-on range time.<br />

restrictions; principals of justification;<br />
PA Crimes Code; limited authority;<br />
incident investigation; testifying in court;<br />
academic examination; armed and<br />
unarmed defense; introduction to<br />
firearms; and firearms range. Begin the<br />
process by applying to the state online at<br />

with the state is $74, which includes a $50<br />
application fee and a $24 FBI fingerprint<br />
check. Physical, eye and psychological<br />
exams are also required. After successful<br />

This 12-hour course is an introduction to<br />
training students in the use of rifles/carbines<br />
suitable for law enforcement.<br />
Tactical use of the weapon is stressed<br />
throughout the program, as is the judicious<br />
use of deadly force at close to intermediate<br />
ranges. This program is designed<br />
for police, corrections, and security operations.<br />
(Official work certification required<br />
