42 WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT NEW - Spinal Care: Foundation of Wellness Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, said "look well to the spine for the cause of disease" (400 BC). A healthy spine is vital for maintaining wellness and functioning at your best. When the spine becomes damaged through some trauma or accident such as being born, tripping or falling, hitting the head or car accidents the spine is jarred out of place interfering with nerve function creating an environment for ill health. Timothy Strittmatter DC, ATC will discuss why the spine is the foundation stone to the entire body wellness, how to detect spinal damage on yourself and others by simple body balance checks, how to correct the problem, and preventive strategies that will help maintain a healthy spine for a lifetime.
