From A to Z, learn how to touch type with
more accuracy and speed. Move effortlessly
from caps, symbols, numbers, and tabs
with more confidence. Learn to subscript,
superscript, and use special fonts.
Determine your current typing speed and
strive to improve using Microsoft Word.
You will also create simple memos and letters.

Introduction to Medical Insurance
This course provides a review of insurance
and third-party payment systems. Focus
will be on government programs. Legal
issues that impact the medical office will
be discussed. Basic overview of CMS 1500
claims reporting will also be provided.
Prerequisites: Touch Typing on the
Computer, Computer Fundamentals Using
Windows XP, and Medical Terminology
(Computer Fundamentals Using Windows
XP and Medical Terminology can be taken

Medical Office Computer
Applications (This course will be
offered in spring 2008)
This is the capstone course for the certification
program through which you will
gain experience with computerized
account management. You will become
familiar with completing insurance claim
forms. In addition, you will learn recordkeeping,
patient recordkeeping, patient
record and ledger sheets in addition to
other office management skills.
Medical Terminology
Youwill be introduced to medical prefixes
and suffixes and taught how to combine
various forms of these words to create functional
medical terminology. You will gain
knowledge that will allow you to define
medical terms and develop a basic understanding
of the word based on the structure
of the word. This course is the foundation
for a number of courses in the medical
profession and will be the basis on which
