Arthritis Management<br />

This course offers general information on<br />

new types of therapies and direction<br />

toward other resources for the treatment<br />

of arthritis and fibromyalgia. Discussion<br />

will include: types of arthritis, causes of<br />

pain, effective medication, exercise and<br />

more. Building an understanding of this<br />

disease is an important step in managing<br />

Eating Disorders Awareness<br />

Eating disorders are serious emotional<br />

and physical problems that can have lifethreatening<br />

consequences for females and<br />

males. The warning signs and symptoms<br />

of anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and<br />

binge eating disorders include extreme<br />

emotions, attitudes and behaviors surrounding<br />

weight and food issues. All eating<br />

disorders require professional help;<br />

however, this overview can alert parents,<br />

educators and other professionals to the<br />

symptoms, prevention, and treatment of<br />

physically challenged (not able to walk or<br />

run), those who want to exercise, and<br />

those 50 and older. Participants will be<br />

instructed in safe, simple, easy-to-perform<br />

exercises, including upper body, lower<br />

body, basic strengthening and stretching.<br />
