Bridgeport, Connecticut – Circa 1895
Louis Hertz called Ives fi ve fi re toys
“A Royal Flush”. The complete set
included a pumper, a hose reel, a hook
and ladder, fi re patrol and a fi re chief.
The fi re chief is the rarest vehicle in the
fl ush. This toy is 16” long.
Material: Cast Iron
Condition: Very Fine (red wheels and
hitch repainted long ago)

Lot 159 Ideal Toy Co. Hook & Ladder
Detroit, Michigan – Circa 1890
Ideal toys are extremely hard to fi nd. The company was only in the business of
selling toys for two or three years. This toy is 30” long.

Condition: Near Excellent (one red wheel under the horse with small piece missing)
