Us<strong>in</strong>g the GMFI data shown <strong>in</strong> Table 3-2, the b<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> A. sE2, B.<br />

mAb 3D5 and C. mAb C11 to the SR-<strong>BI</strong> mutants was expressed as a<br />

function <strong>of</strong> surface SR-<strong>BI</strong> expression: assessed with polyclonal SR-<strong>BI</strong><br />

sera. Each plot shows parental CHO cells (unfilled circle), those<br />

express<strong>in</strong>g wt SR-<strong>BI</strong> (red circle) and the SR-<strong>BI</strong> mutants (filled circles).<br />

For each mutant the b<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g <strong>of</strong> sE2, 3D5 and C11 was proportional to<br />

surface SR-<strong>BI</strong> expression, suggest<strong>in</strong>g that the mutations do not<br />

modulate E2 or antibody recognition. This data set is representative <strong>of</strong><br />

multiple experiments.
