with the anti-SR-<strong>BI</strong> antibody (Figure 5-6B). Similar results were observed with<br />

the anti-CD81 mAb, with all fractions demonstrat<strong>in</strong>g a similar sensitivity to<br />

neutralisation (Figure 5-6C). <strong>The</strong> lack <strong>of</strong> correlation between JFH-1 wt and<br />

G451R particle density and sensitivity to anti-<strong>receptor</strong> antibodies suggests<br />

that the mutant phenotype <strong>of</strong> reduced SR-<strong>BI</strong> dependence and <strong>in</strong>creased<br />

sensitivity to hCD81 LEL neutralisation may be largely attributable to an<br />

altered aff<strong>in</strong>ity or <strong>in</strong>teraction <strong>of</strong> the viral gps with CD81 (Figure 5-3 & Figure<br />

5-4).
