Late19th century, the pierced spindle and figural-carved crest above a foliate-carved<br />

cornice with spindle-carved galleries above a central door depicting a village<br />

celebration, enclosing a pair of shelves, flanked by two further doors over recessed<br />

shelves and drawers, above a breakfronted base with central recess over a drawer and<br />

door, flanked by a further pair of paneled and pierced doors enclosing shelves, on bun<br />

feet, 103'' H x 74'' W x 26'' D, est:$2000/3000. Provenance: Property from a Private<br />

Collection, Rancho Palos Verdes<br />

Condition: In two sections. Structurally sound. Generally good overall condition. Nicely<br />

carved. General marks, nicks and scratches commensurate with age and use. With<br />

typical fading to timber in areas particularly to top edge of base. Some minor nicked<br />

losses to timber overall. With some losses and replacements to carved elements such as<br />

acorn finials to cornice gallery. Cracking to crest. One key.<br />

1166 Pair monumental Baroque style iron torcheres<br />

First half 20th century, each with spiral twist stem surmounted by foliate-scroll<br />

candlearms over a pierced foliate-scroll base, electrified, 2 pcs, 77'' H x 25'' Dia.,<br />

est:$3000/5000<br />

Condition: Good condition overall. General marks, scratches and minor rubbing to<br />

surface overall. Some minor bending to foliate elements. Wiring should be checked by a<br />

qualified electrician prior to use.<br />

1167 A Louis XVI style mahogany bergere de bureau<br />

20th century, the arched fluted crestrail and downswept sides with laurel and<br />

bellflower garlands over a double caned back and sides above an oval padded seat over<br />

turned tapering stop-fluted legs, 30'' H x 27.75'' W x 20'' D, est:$600/900. Provenance:<br />

The Elizabeth DarakjianTrust, Glendale, CA<br />

Condition: Height of seat: 17'', width of seat: 19.5'', depth of seat: 17.5''. Good condition<br />

overall. Mounts nicely cast. Caning with a 4'' break to right side with some slight loss of<br />

color in areas. General light marks and scratches. Upholstery in good condition. Some<br />

tacking nails lifting and loose.<br />

1168 A pair of Louis XVI style mounted petit commodes<br />

Late 19th century, each with a rounded rectangular inset Breccia Medicis marble top<br />

above a frieze drawer over a parquetry medallion paneled door enclosing a grey-veined<br />

white marble interior, on turned tapering legs, 2 pcs, 28'' H x 18'' W x 17.5'' D,<br />

est:$1000/2000. Provenance: The Elizabeth DarakjianTrust, Glendale, CA<br />

Condition: Generally good overall condition. Nicely made. Finished to the reverse.<br />

General light marks, nicks and scratches commensurate with age and use. Mounts<br />

somewhat roughly cast. With some fading to timber at front corners and more notably<br />

to one on right side. Same with scratches to back of right side. With minor chipped<br />

losses and decently matched minor repairs to marbles.<br />

1169 Napoleon III porcelain, rosewood marquetry table<br />

Late 19th century, the raised kidney-shaped top centered by an oval porcelain<br />

medallion depicting a bluebird amidst flowers, over a conforming frieze, on sphinxheaded<br />

downswept legs joined by a conforming undertier, 32.25'' H x 20'' W x 14'' D,<br />

est:$700/1000. Provenance: The Elizabeth DarakjianTrust, Glendale, CA<br />

Condition: Structurally sound. General marks, nicks, scratches, fading and dryness to<br />

timber overall. Mounts roughly-cast. Porcelain plaque nicely painted. With some<br />

lifting, losses, patched repair and overpainted restoration to timber - most notably a 2''<br />

x 1'' section of pollard elm veneer off of left side of top. Some light dirt accumulation<br />

overall.
