9. After the operating system is installed, check if the Microsoft Multi-path I/O driver is<br />

Important: Otherwise, the Windows Server 2008 server can lose the ability to access<br />

existing data on that device.<br />

10.After ensuring that there is a single connection from your host to your storage, perform the<br />

following steps to install SDDDSM on your system from external media:<br />

a. Obtain the latest Subsystem Device Driver Device Specific Module (SDDDSM)<br />

installation package for the Windows Server 2008 operating system from this website:<br />

b. Click the link, SDDDSM Package for <strong>IBM</strong> DS8000. Download the appropriate package<br />

for your host.<br />

c. Extract the zip file for the SDDDSM package <strong>and</strong> run the setup.exe program.<br />

d. Follow the instructions, as shown in Figure 3-51.<br />
