2.6 QLogic HBA configuration<br />

In this section, we configure the QLogic HBA to communicate with the DS5000 storage<br />

subsystem. Ultimately this will allow for a broadcast over the <strong>SAN</strong> fabric, so that the storage<br />

subsystem can recognize the World Wide Port Number (WWPN) of the HBA.<br />

Tip: You need to do the zoning configuration on your <strong>SAN</strong> switch before moving on. We do<br />

not cover the <strong>SAN</strong> zoning steps in this chapter. Check with your switch manufacturer for the<br />

proper way to do zoning.<br />

1. During the boot process, press Ctrl+Q to enter the HBA BIOS configuration utility, as<br />

shown in Figure 2-14.<br />
