Considerations: If the rootvg is mirrored, remove the second copy before running the<br />

alt_disk_install comm<strong>and</strong>, or alternatively, use the other mirroring method, which is<br />

described in 3.10.3, “New installation process for <strong>SAN</strong> <strong>Boot</strong>” on page 185.<br />

4. The alt_disk_install comm<strong>and</strong> can run for several minutes. It creates a new volume<br />

group on the storage subsystem disk called altinst_rootvg <strong>and</strong> creates <strong>and</strong> copies all<br />

logical volumes from rootvg. You can verify the result with the lspv comm<strong>and</strong>, activating<br />

the volume group with varyonvg altinst_rootvg <strong>and</strong> lsvg -l altinst_rootvg<br />

comm<strong>and</strong>s as shown in Figure 3-75.<br />
