Listening, Part 2<br />
In this part of the Listening subtest, the candidates should demonstrate their ability to understand<br />
a global message as well as specific details of information heard on the radio and in public<br />
announcements.<br />
Material may include traffic news, weather forecasts, news of upcoming events, short news items, flight<br />
information at the airport, announcements at train stations, etc. The weather and traffic news are always<br />
represented in this task.<br />

Type of text Monologues: announcements on the radio or over a public loudspeaker<br />
Nature of information Information on the radio, such as the weather forecast, traffic news,<br />
upcoming events, commercials, etc. or public announcements at a train<br />
station, in a shop, at the airport, etc.<br />
Speakers Number of speakers: one per announcement<br />
Text length 55–65 words per announcement<br />
Test items • The candidate will hear five public announcements.<br />
• Each announcement is played once.<br />
Topics See Inventory T – Topics<br />
• For each announcement, there is one multiple-choice question with three<br />
options. The task is to choose the correct statement for each announcement.<br />
Only one option is correct.<br />
Lexical range See Inventory V – Vocabulary<br />
Level Vocabulary and grammar of the items and in the relevant parts of the texts<br />
should be at level A2 or A2+ in some cases.<br />
Weighting 1 point per item (0 for incorrect response)<br />
