Pim VERSCHUREN – Researcher, IRIS<br />
Pim Verschuuren has worked with IRIS on international sports issues since 2010. He contributed <strong>to</strong><br />
Pascal Boniface s book La Coupe de Monde dans <strong>to</strong>us ses Etats (The World Cup in all its States)<br />
(2010) <strong>and</strong> coordinated <strong>the</strong> research program on <strong>Sports</strong> Betting <strong>and</strong> Corruption <strong>to</strong>ge<strong>the</strong>r with Sarah<br />
Lacarriere.<br />
Pim Verschuuren is also jointly responsible for <strong>the</strong> basic education diploma (Master 1 level) at IRIS<br />
Sup . More broadly, his areas of expertise relate <strong>to</strong> aspects of defence <strong>and</strong> international security. He<br />
completed an internship at <strong>the</strong> European Commission s Direc<strong>to</strong>rate-General for External Relations,<br />
where he worked on EU relations with <strong>the</strong> countries of East Asia.<br />
Pim is a graduate of <strong>the</strong> Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Rennes. His dissertation was on French nuclear<br />
doctrine since <strong>the</strong> end of <strong>the</strong> Cold War. He also spent one academic year at <strong>the</strong> University of<br />
Queensl<strong>and</strong>, in Australia, where he studied international relations in North East Asia, before obtaining<br />
a Master 2 degree in "Law <strong>and</strong> Politics of International Security" at <strong>the</strong> University of Amsterdam.<br />
Alex<strong>and</strong>re TUAILLON, Deputy Direc<strong>to</strong>r, IRIS<br />
Alex<strong>and</strong>re Tuaillon, a graduate of <strong>the</strong> Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Lille <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> University of Lille 2<br />
Faculty of Law, joined IRIS in 2001. Prior <strong>to</strong> this he worked for various local authorities (City of<br />
Villeneuve d'Ascq ) <strong>and</strong> companies (EDF, Eurostar).<br />
Alex<strong>and</strong>re Tuaillon was Communications Officer at IRIS (2001-2006), after which he was appointed<br />
Direc<strong>to</strong>r of External Relations (2006-2009), <strong>and</strong> became Deputy Direc<strong>to</strong>r in 2009. Having managed<br />
<strong>the</strong> process leading <strong>to</strong> IRIS recognition as a public interest body, he is now in charge of corporate<br />
relations (civil sec<strong>to</strong>r) <strong>and</strong> civil contracts with international institutions. Alex<strong>and</strong>re also manages<br />
IRIS professional training programs (in-house <strong>and</strong> corporate) <strong>and</strong> is responsible for <strong>the</strong> management<br />
of <strong>the</strong> IRIS Board of Direc<strong>to</strong>rs. Alex<strong>and</strong>re Tuaillon is an elected local representative (for <strong>the</strong> <strong>to</strong>wn of<br />
Montreuil <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> Communaute d agglomération Est Ensemble, Seine-Saint-Denis).<br />

David FORREST - Professor of economics, university of Salford, UK, <strong>and</strong> Honorary Professor, Macao<br />
Polytechnic Institute<br />
David Forrest studied Economics at <strong>the</strong> University of Western Ontario, in Canada. He is an economist<br />
<strong>and</strong> econometrician, <strong>and</strong> specialises in two areas: sports <strong>and</strong> gambling. Over <strong>the</strong> past decade, he has<br />
published some 50 academic articles <strong>and</strong> authored official reports on <strong>corruption</strong> in sport <strong>and</strong> child<br />
gambling in Britain. He acts as a consultant <strong>to</strong> various British regula<strong>to</strong>ry bodies <strong>and</strong> is an experienced<br />
commenta<strong>to</strong>r in <strong>the</strong> media.<br />
