Jean-Michel Icard is a founding partner of <strong>the</strong> law firm Praxes Avocats. He has practised in Paris since<br />
1978, <strong>and</strong> specialises in commercial law. Jean-Michel works with national <strong>and</strong> international<br />
companies <strong>and</strong> organisations on risk anticipation, including criminal risks. His clients range through<br />
transport, manufacturing, information technology, banking etc. He is currently working alongside<br />
General Jean-Pierre Meyer, consulting <strong>and</strong> implementing training using <strong>the</strong> MARPSA registered<br />
method (a method for assessing criminal risk <strong>and</strong> anticipation strategy) for clients <strong>to</strong> assist <strong>the</strong>m in<br />
anticipating, preventing <strong>and</strong> solving <strong>the</strong>ir risks - particularly crime-related. From 1982 <strong>to</strong> 1985, Jean-<br />
Michel Icard was Professor of Criminal <strong>and</strong> Business Law at INTEC (Institut National des Techniques<br />
Economiques et Comptables, <strong>the</strong> French Institute of Economic <strong>and</strong> Accounting Techniques), <strong>and</strong> also<br />
Conference Direc<strong>to</strong>r (general criminal <strong>and</strong> business law) at <strong>the</strong> University of Paris II-Assas Institut<br />
d’Etudes Judiciaires (Institute of Legal Studies) from 1982 <strong>to</strong> 1989. Jean-Michel Icard taught at <strong>the</strong><br />
Ecole Centrale de Paris from 1986 <strong>to</strong> 2001. He has also served as President of <strong>the</strong> Company Law<br />
professional group within CPA (HEC Group), taught in <strong>the</strong> Banques Populaires post-graduate cycle<br />
<strong>and</strong> presented numerous lectures <strong>and</strong> training courses on corporate security at national <strong>and</strong><br />
international symposia. In addition, he works with <strong>the</strong> CNPP s European Security Unit on risk<br />
anticipation (particularly crime-related) in <strong>the</strong> corporate world. Jean-Michel Icard holds a post<br />
graduate diploma in <strong>the</strong> <strong>the</strong>ory <strong>and</strong> practice of criminal law <strong>and</strong> criminal business law from <strong>the</strong><br />
University of Paris II-Assas <strong>and</strong> a degree from HEC (EMBA - CPA), <strong>and</strong> is a graduate of INHESJ.<br />
General Jean-Pierre MEYER - Special Consultant - Praxes Avocats<br />
General Jean-Pierre Meyer spent part of his career in intelligence <strong>and</strong> operations. He was Direc<strong>to</strong>r of<br />
Operations at France s Department of Military Intelligence <strong>the</strong>n Direc<strong>to</strong>r of <strong>the</strong> Interministerial<br />
Intelligence Committee at <strong>the</strong> General Secretariat of National Defence. He also served abroad on a<br />
number of occasions, specifically in Sarajevo as second-in-comm<strong>and</strong> of <strong>the</strong> multinational forces. In<br />
addition, he has undertaken many consulting assignments for large strategic groups. At Praxes<br />
Avocats, he is currently working alongside Jean-Michel Icard <strong>and</strong> his team, consulting <strong>and</strong><br />
implementing training using <strong>the</strong> MARPSA registered method (a method for assessing crime-related<br />
risk <strong>and</strong> anticipation strategy). Jean-Pierre Meyer qualified as an Engineer at <strong>the</strong> Ecole Spéciale<br />
Militaire de Saint-Cyr, graduated from <strong>the</strong> Ecole Superieure de Guerre (Advanced School of War), is<br />
a member of <strong>the</strong> Centre des Hautes Etudes Militaires (CHEM) <strong>and</strong> <strong>the</strong> Institut des Hautes Etudes de<br />
la Defense Nationale (IHEDN). He also holds an MBA from <strong>the</strong> Paris IAE (Institut d’Administration<br />
des Entreprises - Business Administration Institute).<br />
