II.3. Yangtze River Delta Logistic Context
II.3.1. The Hinterland
The Yangtze River Delta embraces three provincial governments (Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang)
and around 15 municipal governments. The Yangtze River Delta cities are promoting regional
integration for growth and economic activity and defining common objectives. In the transportation field,
main goals are to strengthen inter-communication and coordination of infrastructure development and
build a comprehensive transportation network.
Zhejiang’s and Jiangsu’s economies are driven mainly by the private sector while Shanghai has still a
