The follow<strong>in</strong>g were <strong>the</strong> ma<strong>in</strong> developments<br />

dur<strong>in</strong>g 200 regard<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong><br />

implementation <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> 1954 Convention<br />

and its two Protocols:<br />

• In Peru, Supreme Order No. 011-<br />

200 -ED published <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> Official<br />

Gazette (El Peruano) on June 1st,<br />

200 approved <strong>the</strong> Regulations for<br />

<strong>the</strong> National Law on Cultural Heritage<br />

(Law No. 2 29 , published <strong>in</strong><br />

“El Peruano” on July 22nd, 2004).<br />

Moreover, <strong>the</strong> <strong>text</strong> <strong>of</strong> Executive<br />

Order No. 011-200 -ED was published<br />

on June 2nd, 200 by way <strong>of</strong><br />

Exhibit. This <strong>in</strong>cludes n<strong>in</strong>e articles<br />

on <strong>the</strong> protection <strong>of</strong> cultural property<br />

<strong>in</strong> case <strong>of</strong> armed conflict.<br />

• In El Salvador, <strong>the</strong> Inter-Institutional<br />

<strong>Committee</strong> for <strong>International</strong><br />

Humanitarian Law published <strong>in</strong> May<br />

200 <strong>the</strong> «Guide for <strong>the</strong> First Phase <strong>in</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> Process to Identify Cultural Property<br />

Items located <strong>in</strong> El Salvador with<br />

<strong>the</strong> Emblem adopted by <strong>the</strong> 1954<br />

Hague Convention <strong>in</strong> case <strong>of</strong> Armed<br />

Conflict». This publication ga<strong>the</strong>rs<br />

<strong>the</strong> expertise ga<strong>in</strong>ed by Salvadoran<br />

authorities regard<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> identification<br />

<strong>of</strong> cultural property, and sets<br />

itself up as a means to dissem<strong>in</strong>ate<br />

<strong>the</strong> above-mentioned Convention.<br />

The mentioned <strong>Committee</strong> also published<br />

<strong>the</strong> F<strong>in</strong>al Report <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Project<br />

for <strong>the</strong> Identification <strong>of</strong> Cultural<br />

Property <strong>in</strong> El Salvador, Phase 1.<br />

• In Mexico, <strong>the</strong> Mexican Lower<br />

House approved on December<br />

13th, 2005, a draft Executive Order<br />

to reform and adopt <strong>the</strong> Federal<br />

Act on Archaeological, Artistic and<br />

Historical Monuments and Areas.<br />

This <strong>in</strong>itiative <strong>in</strong>corporates several<br />

provisions to apply <strong>the</strong> Convention<br />

and its Protocols.<br />

• In Paraguay, <strong>the</strong> Inter-M<strong>in</strong>isterial<br />

<strong>Committee</strong> for <strong>the</strong> Implementation<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>International</strong> Humanitarian Law<br />

cont<strong>in</strong>ued its campaign for cultural<br />

property identification, which had<br />

started <strong>in</strong> 2005, by identify<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong><br />

monument to <strong>in</strong>dependence located<br />

<strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong> city <strong>of</strong> Asunción with <strong>the</strong> protect<strong>in</strong>g<br />

emblem. New cultural properties,<br />

<strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g <strong>the</strong> Caacupé Church,<br />

were identified dur<strong>in</strong>g 200 .<br />
