Donald W. Fulton Jr. ’68, Senior Vice
President and CFO for hampton Roads
Bankshares Inc., the fi nancial holding
company for Bank of hampton Roads,
was a nominee in Virginia Business’ 2007
Virginia CFO of the Year Awards. Mr.
Fulton joined hampton Roads Bankshares
as a Senior Vice President in 2003
and was named CFO shortly thereafter.
Before joining the company, Mr. Fulton
served as a Senior Vice President and the
CFO at James River Bankshares Inc.,
which was acquired by another institution
in 2001. he was a Vice President of
Jeff erson Bankshares Inc. (Charlottesville,
Va.) before joining James River Bankshares.
his areas of responsibility include
corporate fi nance, capital management
and planning, investor relations, fi nancial
analysis, strategic planning for non-bank
ventures, and administration and implementation
of employee benefi t plans. Mr.
Fulton is a graduate of the University of
Virginia, the Virginia Maryland School
of Bank Management at the University
of Virginia, and the Stonier Graduate
School of Banking at Rutgers University.
his banking career began in 1968 in
Charlottesville, with National Bank and
Trust Company, a predecessor to Jeff erson
National Bank.

1970s
Ron Seay ’70 has retired. he was employed
by Danzer Group as Vice President
of Finance. he and his wife, Linda,
will reside in Wrightsville Beach, N.C.
Larry McLaud ’71 was awarded the Lifetime
Clearwater Defender Award from
Friends of the Clearwater for his work in
protecting and preserving the Big Wild
in Idaho.
Tommy Brannock ’79 married Lori
McCarty (A&S ’96) Nov. 24, 2006. he
was also named Sales Associate of the
Year for 2006 by the Charlottesville Area
Association of Realtors and Coach of the
Year by Th e Daily Progress for women’s
lacrosse.
W. Michael Fagan ’79, Raritan Valley
Community College Assistant Professor
of Finance, has earned the Project Management
Professional credential from the
online Project Management Institute.
Fagan, a resident of hillsborough, N.J.,
is a full-time faculty member in the college’s
Business and Public Service Department.
Fagan teaches courses at the
college in the North Branch section of
the township, primarily in accounting
and fi nance. he is the program adviser
for the college’s fi nancial services major
and co-chairs the accounting and fi nance
advisory committee.
Paul Meyer ’79, Managing Director of
Navigant Consulting, was mentioned in a
March 19, 2007, Wall Street Journal article,
“An economist’s Courtroom Bonanza,”
as one of the top damage expert witnesses
in his fi eld of intellectual property.
Mr. Meyer, a member of the McIntire
School Advisory Board, continues to lead
Navigant’s National Intellectual Property
Practice, as well as teach at Stanford University.
Over the last 20 years, Mr. Meyer
has provided expert testimony on damages
in approximately 200 depositions
and in more than 60 trials. Professor
Kenneth elzinga of the U.Va. Department
of economics was also referenced
in the same WSJ article as a prominent
expert.
Andy Rudin ’79 (M.S. in MIT ’05), a
member of McIntire’s M.S. in MIT
Advisory Board, has published an article,
“‘On My honor, as a Salesperson . . .’:
Why Sales ethics Matter,” on Customer-
Th ink (formerly CRMGuru.com).
