1960s<br />

Donald W. Fulton Jr. ’68, Senior Vice<br />

President and CFO for hampton Roads<br />

Bankshares Inc., the fi nancial holding<br />

company for Bank <strong>of</strong> hampton Roads,<br />

was a nominee in Virginia Business’ <strong>2007</strong><br />

Virginia CFO <strong>of</strong> the Year Awards. Mr.<br />

Fulton joined hampton Roads Bankshares<br />

as a Senior Vice President in 2003<br />

and was named CFO shortly thereafter.<br />

Before joining the company, Mr. Fulton<br />

served as a Senior Vice President and the<br />

CFO at James River Bankshares Inc.,<br />

which was acquired by another institution<br />

in 2001. he was a Vice President <strong>of</strong><br />

Jeff erson Bankshares Inc. (Charlottesville,<br />

Va.) before joining James River Bankshares.<br />

his areas <strong>of</strong> responsibility include<br />

corporate fi nance, capital management<br />

and planning, investor relations, fi nancial<br />

analysis, strategic planning for non-bank<br />

ventures, and administration and implementation<br />

<strong>of</strong> employee benefi t plans. Mr.<br />

Fulton is a graduate <strong>of</strong> the University <strong>of</strong><br />

Virginia, the Virginia Maryland <strong>School</strong><br />

<strong>of</strong> Bank Management at the University<br />

<strong>of</strong> Virginia, and the Stonier Graduate<br />

<strong>School</strong> <strong>of</strong> Banking at Rutgers University.<br />

his banking career began in 1968 in<br />

Charlottesville, with National Bank and<br />

Trust Company, a predecessor to Jeff erson<br />

National Bank.<br />

1970s<br />

Ron Seay ’70 has retired. he was employed<br />

by Danzer Group as Vice President<br />

<strong>of</strong> Finance. he and his wife, Linda,<br />

will reside in Wrightsville Beach, N.C.<br />

Larry McLaud ’71 was awarded the Lifetime<br />

Clearwater Defender Award from<br />

Friends <strong>of</strong> the Clearwater for his work in<br />

protecting and preserving the Big Wild<br />

in Idaho.<br />

Tommy Brannock ’79 married Lori<br />

McCarty (A&S ’96) Nov. 24, 2006. he<br />

was also named Sales Associate <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Year for 2006 by the Charlottesville Area<br />

Association <strong>of</strong> Realtors and Coach <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Year by Th e Daily Progress for women’s<br />

lacrosse.<br />

W. Michael Fagan ’79, Raritan Valley<br />

Community College Assistant Pr<strong>of</strong>essor<br />

<strong>of</strong> Finance, has earned the Project Management<br />

Pr<strong>of</strong>essional credential from the<br />

online Project Management Institute.<br />

Fagan, a resident <strong>of</strong> hillsborough, N.J.,<br />

is a full-time faculty member in the college’s<br />

Business and Public Service Department.<br />

Fagan teaches courses at the<br />

college in the North Branch section <strong>of</strong><br />

the township, primarily in accounting<br />

and fi nance. he is the program adviser<br />

for the college’s fi nancial services major<br />

and co-chairs the accounting and fi nance<br />

advisory committee.<br />

Paul Meyer ’79, Managing Director <strong>of</strong><br />

Navigant Consulting, was mentioned in a<br />

March 19, <strong>2007</strong>, Wall Street Journal article,<br />

“An economist’s Courtroom Bonanza,”<br />

as one <strong>of</strong> the top damage expert witnesses<br />

in his fi eld <strong>of</strong> intellectual property.<br />

Mr. Meyer, a member <strong>of</strong> the <strong>McIntire</strong><br />

<strong>School</strong> Advisory Board, continues to lead<br />

Navigant’s National Intellectual Property<br />

Practice, as well as teach at Stanford University.<br />

Over the last 20 years, Mr. Meyer<br />

has provided expert testimony on damages<br />

in approximately 200 depositions<br />

and in more than 60 trials. Pr<strong>of</strong>essor<br />

Kenneth elzinga <strong>of</strong> the U.Va. Department<br />

<strong>of</strong> economics was also referenced<br />

in the same WSJ article as a prominent<br />

expert.<br />

Andy Rudin ’79 (M.S. in MIT ’05), a<br />

member <strong>of</strong> <strong>McIntire</strong>’s M.S. in MIT<br />

Advisory Board, has published an article,<br />

“‘On My honor, as a Salesperson . . .’:<br />
