Chapter 8 Final Exams<br />
8.1<br />
Exam Concluding the Propaedeutic Phase<br />
WHW articles 7.8 <strong>and</strong> 7.10<br />
A student will pass the propaedeutic exam, if he has met the completion requirements of all the<br />
examinations that go with the units of study of the propaedeutic phase of the study programme.<br />
This exam is the first exam of the HBO study programme. On passing this exam, the student will<br />
be awarded 60 ECTS credits. The compensation possibilities as mentioned in article 8.3.1 will be<br />
applicable in this process.<br />

Exam Concluding the Main Phase (Final Exam)<br />
8.2.1 Final exam of the HBO bachelor’s programme<br />
1 A student will pass the final exam of the main phase, if he has met the completion<br />
requirements of all the examinations that go with the units of study of the main phase. On<br />
passing this exam, the student will be awarded 180 ECTS credits. The compensation<br />
possibilities as mentioned in article 8.3.2 will be applicable in this process.<br />
2 The final exam is the second exam of the HBO bachelor’s programme. If a student has<br />
passed both the propaedeutic exam <strong>and</strong> the final exam, he will have successfully<br />
completed the HBO bachelor’s programme <strong>and</strong> have earned 240 ECTS credits in total.<br />
8.2.2 Final exam of the associate degree programme<br />
Not applicable.<br />

Compensation Possibilities<br />
8.3.1 Compensation possibilities in the propaedeutic phase<br />
See article 7.1.<br />
8.3.2 Compensation possibilities in the main phase<br />
1 An examination result within a minor programme cannot be compensated by another<br />
examination result achieved within this same minor programme, nor by a satisfactory result<br />
obtained for any other curriculum component. In addition, an unsatisfactory result for any<br />
curriculum component cannot be compensated by a satisfactory result obtained in a minor<br />
programme.<br />

8.4<br />
Entry Conditions of the Final Exam<br />
1 If a student wants to take the final exam of the main phase, he must have passed the<br />
propaedeutic exam.<br />
