The production area of the D<strong>en</strong>omination of Origin “Almansa” is located east<br />
of the province of <strong>Albacete</strong>.<br />
The wines of the Appellation of Origin “Almansa” are characterized by a very<br />
high color int<strong>en</strong>sity, sturdy but soft wine, ruby red colored, broad palate marked<br />
ess<strong>en</strong>ce .. The most common are red varieties: Gr<strong>en</strong>acheTintorera, Monastrell,<br />
C<strong>en</strong>cibel,. They also produce white wines with varieties Meseguera and Air<strong>en</strong>.<br />

D.O. Jumilla Wine<br />
D.O. Jumilla is only pres<strong>en</strong>t in this region at the municipality of Montealegre<br />
del Castillo. The main grape variety is the red Monastrell as well as Garnacha<br />
Tintorera, Cabernet Sauvignon and C<strong>en</strong>cibel or Air<strong>en</strong> and Macabeo among the<br />
white varieties. The resulting red wines are very well made wines, wide, with an<br />
int<strong>en</strong>se color and complex aromas of great personality.<br />

Other well known DO products from this region are cheese, lamb, game meat<br />
or oil.<br />
D.O. VINO DE ALMANSA<br />
La zona de producción de la D<strong>en</strong>ominación de Orig<strong>en</strong> vinos de Almansa se sitúa<br />
al Este de la provincia de <strong>Albacete</strong>.<br />
Los vinos de la D<strong>en</strong>ominación de Orig<strong>en</strong> Almansa se caracterizan por la int<strong>en</strong>sidad<br />
de color muy alta, vinos recios pero suaves, de color rojo rubí, amplio extracto<br />
y marcado paladar. Las variedades tintas más ext<strong>en</strong>didas son: Garnacha,<br />
Tintorera, Monastrell y C<strong>en</strong>cibel. Produc<strong>en</strong> también vinos blancos con las variedades<br />
de Meseguera y Airén.<br />

D.O. VINO DE JUMILLA<br />
La DO Jumilla está pres<strong>en</strong>te <strong>en</strong> esta comarca aunque sólo <strong>en</strong> el municipio de<br />
Montealegre del Castillo. La principal variedad de la zona es la tinta Monastrell,<br />
además de Garnacha tintorera, C<strong>en</strong>cibel y Cabernet Sauvignon, <strong>en</strong>tre las tintas,<br />
y las blancas, Airén y Macabeo. Se elaboran vinos tintos jóv<strong>en</strong>es, vinos muy<br />
bi<strong>en</strong> constituidos, amplios, de int<strong>en</strong>sa coloración y aromas complejos de gran<br />
personalidad.<br />
