The company
foresees to sell
15,000 tons of
organic product
The company is in an
expansion period, because
next year is foreseen
a marketing of
15,000 tons, with a
surface of 120 hectares
located in Campo de
Níjar and La Cañada,
mainly grown in greenhouse,
although it also
has between 12 and 14
hectares in the open.
Francisco Belmonte,
manager of Biosabor,
explains that the company’s
growth is due to
the commitment for the
own production.
The key product of Biosabor
is the branch
tomato, around 70 percent
of the total production.
It also complements
its portfolio of
products with tomato,
pear cherry tomato, cucumber
in autumn and
spring, and watermelon
and melon in summer.
The firm has as reference
the European markets.
The 95 percent of
the product is sent outside
of Spain. Germany
is the main customer,
because it has a 60 percent
of its supply. The
remaining 40 percent
is distributed in France,
Scandinavian Countries,
United Kingdom
and Switzerland,
among others.
In addition, Biosabor
has already opened a
new line of products
ready made. In particular,
the products are:
organic fried tomato,
crushed tomatoes, gazpacho,
fried tomato, all
of the organic. It also
is added: quince jelly,
which also use the best
tomato as raw material.
In fact, is a solution for
quality products noncommercial
that are
wasted. “It is another
example to sell products
with a different
supply in the market”,
says Belmonte.

Look at the
Nordic markets
Frunet is a reference
company which has
the system for the organic
production of
fruits and vegetables.
The company has not
stopped growing in volume
and business since
it began the business
activity in 2003.
Nowadays, the company
reaches 8,000 tons
of fruit and vegetables,
where the export monopolizes
the offer. For
this reason, the Nordic
markets, Germany,
France or United Kingdom
are the four relevant
markets for this
firm from Málaga.
The company invests
in cherry tomato and a
diversity of supply, the
keys to understand its
works in the organic
market, thanks to their
varieties of cherry tomato
(branch, pear and
round), branch tomato
and, more recently, cu-

cumber, pepper, courgette
and aubergine,
among others, following
a defined strategy
with valuable customers.
In addition, Frunet
continues to grow in organic
subtropical fruits.
In fact, the firm has increased
the volume of
mango a 300 percent
and it expects to grow
in avocado, although
not in that percentage.
The company continues
developing the import,
because it is an important
via for the business
develop of Frunet.
In fact, the company
imports avocado from
different countries of
South America, such
as Mexico, Peru and
Chile, which “allow us
close the trade cycle,
being the export the
main destination”, explains
Antonio Lavao,
manager of Frunet.
