The key product of<br />
Fulgencio Spa is the<br />
branch cherry tomato<br />
and already represents<br />
a 50 percent of the total<br />
of tomato cherry,<br />
taking second place the<br />
round and pear cherry<br />
tomatoes.<br />
At present, the company<br />
has five receiving<br />
points on the coast of<br />
Granada, which makes<br />
it to have an annual<br />
production of 14,000<br />
tons between Granada,<br />
with a surface of 100<br />
hectares and the estates<br />
located in Morocco.<br />
The company foresees<br />
to increase the surface<br />
in 15 hectares in Granada<br />
for this year, which<br />
represents a rise of 13<br />
percent. The cherry tomato<br />

are sent for international<br />
markets.<br />
In fact, a large part of<br />
these products are exported<br />
to EU, with Germany,<br />
United Kingdom<br />
and the Netherlands as<br />

have noticed an increase<br />
of cherry tomato<br />

However, the company<br />
prepares the organic<br />
production for this<br />
year, although the volume<br />
would be relatively<br />

Campojoyma foresees<br />
to increase its organic<br />
offer this campaign<br />
between a 25-30 percent,<br />
where the tomato<br />
reaches 9,000 tons of<br />
the 14,000 tons that<br />
sold on average last<br />
year.<br />

wide range of organic<br />
products, although<br />
focus its efforts in six<br />
products, where highlights<br />
the tomato,<br />
which represents a 65<br />
percent of the total<br />
sold.<br />
The cherry tomato is<br />
very important for the<br />
economic future of the<br />
company, because it<br />
has reached 5,400 tons<br />
of organic tomato cherry,<br />
of where 1,200 tons<br />
are pear cherry tomato;<br />
2,000 tons are branch<br />
cherry tomato and the<br />
major part is concentrated<br />

The surface of organic<br />
cherry tomato is increasing<br />
and already<br />
has 47 hectares. A 35<br />
percent of the organic<br />
product is divided between<br />
courgette, tomato,<br />
aubergine, cucumber<br />
and pepper. In fact,<br />
it closes the growing<br />
cycle for 12 months.<br />
Also it has introduced<br />
Chinese cabbage, a referent<br />
in the Spanish<br />
market with 700 tons,<br />
with a campaign that<br />
includes from January<br />
to the end of March.<br />
The export is the key to<br />
the economic development<br />
of this company<br />
from Almería, because<br />
almost a 100 percent<br />
of the production is<br />
exported, being EU the<br />
main destination, specially<br />
the Nordic countries<br />
(Sweden and Denmark)<br />
and Germany.
