La carta The menu
En el restaurante, su carta contiene
platos de ascendencia sefardí y de
nueva creación, concibiendo así una
gastronomía tradicional actualizada.
Valgan como ejemplos las berenjenas
con miel de caña y la tortilla de rabo de
toro. Como colofón, los postres caseros,
destacando el bipolar de chocolate
con helado de galleta.
En esta taberna estuvo ubicada la peculiar
Peña Los Almanzores que fue
todo un referente en la Puerta de Almodóvar
y en el barrio de la Judería.
Sus componentes eran todos del barrio,
vinculado a éste por nacimiento.
Famosas fueron las cruces que levantaron
en el transcurso de las fiestas
del Mayo cordobés.
The restaurant menu features
Sephardic and newly-created dishes
which recreates the traditional
gastronomy. A few examples are the
molasses-glazed eggplant and the
oxtail omelette. Topping it all off are the
homemade desserts like the two
chocolate cake with biscuit ice-cream.
This tavern was once home to the
peculiar Los Almanzores folk club
which had quite the name within the
Puerta de Almodóvar and in the
Jewish quarter.
The members were all from the
neighbourhood by birth. The crosses
they lifted during Cordoba’s May
festival were very famous.
