3.5.2 Activate Parental Control<br />

The Parental Control function must be active for <strong>the</strong> panel <strong>to</strong> block content. If this option is turned Off, blocked<br />

programs appear on screen. To activate Parental Control blocking, follow <strong>the</strong> steps below.<br />

1 ) Access <strong>the</strong> System Setup through <strong>the</strong> Setup.<br />

2 ) Select Parental Control.<br />

The password entry screen appears.<br />

3 ) Enter your four-digit code using <strong>the</strong> 0 through 9 but<strong>to</strong>ns.<br />

4 ) Select Status.<br />

5 ) Select On <strong>to</strong> activate Parental Control.<br />

6 ) Press HOME MENU <strong>to</strong> exit <strong>the</strong> menu.<br />

When a program is blocked, a (B) appears next <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> channel number. If a channel is blocked but <strong>the</strong> Parental<br />

Control system is turned off, <strong>the</strong> symbol is a (V) and <strong>the</strong> channel/program is viewable.<br />

The lock symbol here marks<br />

blocked TV ratings.<br />

3.5.3 Assign a Rating System <strong>to</strong> Create Blocks<br />

Besides choosing <strong>to</strong> block certain channels, you may use one of <strong>the</strong> recognized rating systems <strong>to</strong> block programs<br />

and/or content. Your panel recognizes <strong>the</strong> following rating systems:<br />

TV ratings<br />

TV Parental Guidelines including unrated programming<br />

Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA for movies)<br />

Canadian English/French rating systems<br />

Note: Your flat panel TV ships with all ratings unblocked.<br />

To block TV or o<strong>the</strong>r content using a rating system, follow <strong>the</strong> steps below.<br />

1 ) Access <strong>the</strong> System Setup through <strong>the</strong> Setup.<br />

2 ) Select Parental Control from <strong>the</strong> System Setup menu.<br />

3 ) Select one of <strong>the</strong> rating systems from <strong>the</strong> submenu.<br />
