MARCEL WIBAULT AU MUSéE ALPIN
Du 11 juin à mi-octobre 2012 - Prolongation de
l’exposition consacrée à l’artiste chamoniard
Peintre issu des Beaux Arts, Marcel Wibault (1904-1998)
pose son chevalet à Chamonix en 1936. Il ne quittera plus la
vallée et laissera à la postérité plus de 4000 œuvres d’art :
paysages de montagne, pastorales, portraits... sans oublier
les innombrables parterres d’anémones et de rhododendrons
ni les surprenants soldats d’Empire aux costumes colorés.
Montagnard assidu, il réalise entre 1950 et 1970 plus de cent
tableaux par an d’après nature : un exploit dans le genre !

From 11th June to mid-October 2012 - Dates have
been extended to view the work of this local artist.
A student of the Beaux Arts, Marcel Wibault (1904-1998)
arrived in Chamonix in 1936. He stayed in the valley and
produced over 4000 pieces of art: mountain landscapes,
pastoral scenes, portraits…not forgetting the countless
anemones, rhododendrons and surprising colonial soldiers
in colourful uniforms. A prolific worker, he produced over 100
paintings a year between 1950 and 1970; an exploit of its kind!
