GL events continue d’élargir son offre de destinations d’événements en France comme
à l’international. Et conforte la gestion d’espaces comme un levier de croissance
stratégique du groupe.

À Istanbul, sur le
Bosphore, entre Europe
et Asie, le dernier espace
acquis par GL events se
nomme « The Seed »,
autrement dit « La Graine », parce
que ce site d’événements évoque la
naissance, la vie, la croissance, le
futur et l’espoir… Une métaphore qui
convient parfaitement à un organisateur
d’événements. Offrant une structure et
une architecture modernes, The Seed
est le centre de congrès stambouliote
le plus récent. Il accueille des
manifestations artistiques et culturelles
nationales et internationales mais
aussi des séminaires, des réunions et
des congrès. Avec des configurations,
des espaces intérieurs et extérieurs
– la magnifique terrasse fleurie et
arborée propose un panorama superbe
sur la mer – permettant d’accueillir
de 300 à 1 000 personnes. Au cœur
de l’Europe politique cette fois, à
Bruxelles, à 20 h 09, le 20 septembre
2009 (20/09/2009) s’ouvriront les portes
du « Square », le Centre des Congrès,
en rénovation depuis trois ans, dont
GL events s’est vu confier la gestion
pour 27 ans. Proposant des espaces
adaptés à tout type d’événement, son
point d’orgue se situe au dernier étage :
la salle de réception, dite « Panoramic
Hall », avec vue à 360° sur Bruxelles.
Elle est signée par le designer Arne
Quinze, comme le restaurant au rez-dechaussée,
ouvert au public et donnant
sur le parc du Mont des Arts.
En Italie cette fois, GL events conforte
son implantation à Turin où le
groupe gère déjà le Parc d’Exposition
Lingotto Fiere. GL events a obtenu
une concession de 25 ans pour l’Oval,
ce lieu d’événement érigé pour
les Jeux Olympiques d’hiver 2006
où se déroulèrent les épreuves de
patinage de vitesse. Intelligemment,
les concepteurs de l’Oval avaient
anticipé l’après-JO, en créant un
site modulable, capable de recevoir
d’autres compétitions sportives mais
pas seulement. Ses 20 000 m 2 , divisibles
en trois espaces indépendants,
permettent d’organiser des expositions,
des conventions, des soirées de gala,
des concerts et des spectacles, avec
une capacité maximum de 13 500
personnes. En France enfin, GL events
est entré dans l’histoire très ancienne
des foires de Champagne avec
l’acquisition du Parc d’Exposition de
Troyes. Situé en ville, entouré d’une
esplanade, il propose près de 20 000 m 2
d’exposition dont 7 700 m 2 couverts.
Un partenariat « gagnant-gagnant » a
été mis en place entre la Communauté
d’Agglomération de Troyes (C.A.T),
GL events et les trois chambres
consulaires du département de l’Aube.
De la France à la Turquie en passant
par l’Italie et la Belgique, ces nouvelles
acquisitions renforcent la stratégie
de GL events en matière de gestion
d’espaces.

GL events continues to broaden its
range of event venues both in France
and abroad. And, by the same token,
consolidates its management of
venues as a catalyst for the strategic
growth of the group.
In Istanbul, on the Bosphorus,

between Europe and Asia, the latest
venue acquired by GL events is
called “The Seed” because this venue evokes
birth, life, growth, the future and hope… This
metaphor is perfectly adapted to an event
organiser. The Seed is a modern structure
with modern architecture, and is Istanbul’s
newest conference centre. It can host artistic
and cultural events at both the national and
international level, as well as seminars,
meetings and conferences. The Seed has a
multitude of possible configurations with
indoor and outdoor areas –the magnificent
garden patio has a breathtaking view of the
sea– making it possible to welcome 300 to
1,000 people. Off to the political heart of
Europe, this time: in Brussels at 20 h 09 on 20
September (20/09/2009) “Square”, the new
conference centre, will open its doors after
three years of renovation work. GL events has
been entrusted with the management for the
next 27 years. Square proposes areas adapted
to all types of event, with the main attraction
to be found on the top floor: the reception
room, called the “Panoramic Hall”, which has
a 360° view of Brussels. It was designed by
Arne Quinze, as was the restaurant on the
ground floor, which is open to the public and
has a view of the Mont des Arts park.
Over to Italy this time, where GL events
has consolidated its implantation in Turin
(the company already manages the Turin
Exhibition Centre, Lingotto Fiere). GL events
has obtained a 25-year lease for the Oval,
a venue built for the Winter Olympics in
2006 to host the speed skating events. With
great intelligence, the designers of the Oval
anticipated the “after-Olympics” period and
created a modular site, capable of hosting
other events, sport of course, but also other
types of event. The venue’s 20,000 m 2 can
be divided into three distinct areas, making
it possible to organise exhibitions, conventions,
gala evenings, concerts and shows,
with a maximum capacity of 13,500. And
finally, in France, GL events has become
part of the age-old tradition of trade fairs
in the Champagne region, with the group’s
acquisition of the Troyes exhibition centre.
Situated in the city centre and surrounded by
an esplanade, the centre has almost 20,000
m 2 of exhibition space, of which 7,700 m 2 are
covered. A “win-win” partnership has been
signed between the Troyes metropolitan area
(Communauté d’Agglomération de Troyes,
CAT), GL events and the three consular
chambers in the Aube département. From
France to Turkey, via Italy and Belgium, these
new acquisitions strengthen GL events’ strategy
in terms of venue management.
