CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR DIRECTORSHIPS FOR THE <strong>2008</strong> GENERAL ELECTION<br />
In its upcoming elections in <strong>2008</strong>, the Bureau of the <strong>Ordre</strong> <strong>des</strong> <strong>ingénieurs</strong> <strong>du</strong> <strong>Québec</strong> will be filling six (6) directorships<br />
in four (4) of the eight regions :<br />

CONDITIONS TO BE MET TO BECOME A CANDIDATE<br />
• To be eligible, candidates must have their personal domicile in the region they wish to represent (Engineers Act,<br />
s.10) and must be registered on the OIQ roll by March 11, <strong>2008</strong>; that is, at least 45 days prior to the poll closing<br />
date (Professional Code, s. 66.1).<br />
• If a candidate ceases to be domiciled in that region after nomination, or if the candidate dies, the election shall<br />
continue between the other candidates (Regulation respecting elections to the Bureau of the <strong>Ordre</strong> <strong>des</strong> <strong>ingénieurs</strong><br />
<strong>du</strong> <strong>Québec</strong>, s. 16).<br />
• A permanent employee of the Order is not eligible for the office of director (Regulation respecting elections [...], s.16).<br />
• The nomination paper of a candidate must be drawn up in a manner similar to the one appearing in page four<br />
(4) of the present notice, and be signed by the candidate (Regulation respecting elections [...], s.16).<br />
• The nomination paper must also be signed by five (5) «endorsers», members of the Order, who have their<br />
personal domicile in the same region than the proposed candidate. It is suggested that candidates obtain more<br />
than the required five signatures in the event that any of the endorsers should be deemed inadmissible.<br />
• The nomination paper and «optional» supporting documents must reach the OIQ Secretary by 4:00 P.M.,<br />
February 25, <strong>2008</strong>, the closing date for nominations (Engineers Act, s.10 and Regulation respecting<br />
elections [...], s.17), that is, «at least 60 days prior to the poll closing date».<br />
