Yolaine was born in Algeria and always regretted that she didn’tspeak the language. When she retired, she took a degree in Maghreb dialectology but has not had enoughpractice. She dreams of immersing herself for a month with a family in Morocco but for the moment shecannot leave her cats alone. For information, please contact Ed Sackstein,0033 450 407 160NEW <strong>AAFI</strong>-<strong>AFICS</strong> COMMITTEE MEMBER►►►◄◄As our members will have seen in the Annual Report of the Committee to the General Assembly of 14 <strong>March</strong><strong>2006</strong>, our colleague Marie-Claire Séguret resigned from the <strong>AAFI</strong>-<strong>AFICS</strong> Committee in October 2005 forpersonal reasons.At its meeting of 12 January <strong>2006</strong>, inconformity with Article 16 of the Association’s Statutes, the Committeeco-opted Katia Chestopalov who has just retired from the World Meteorological Organization. As laid downin the Statutes, her term of office will coincide with the mandate of M.-C Séguret which would have ended atthe end of April 2007.Katia Chestopalov joined the WMO in 1985. She holds a master’s degree in literature from the University ofToulouse and occupied various posts first in the Languages, Publications and Conferences Department andlater in the Human Resource Management Division. Her last post was that of Chief, Human ResourceOperations.►►►◄◄26
