About
Katharine is a filmmaker, picture book author and curator.
Her short films have screened at international festivals,
received theatrical distribution in the USA, and been featured
on Virgin In Flight entertainment. Her debut picture book,
Cockatoo Magic was published by Loose Parts Press in 2022
and has featured on the Better Read Than Dead Kids best
seller list three times. Recently, nature has become a passion
for her and in 2023 she received a Highly Commended in
the Australian Photographer of the Year (Animal and Nature
Category)
Wild places
Through the space and time, Arteles afforded me, I created
several written works, including three children's picture
books, a short story for adults, and a synopsis for a reality
TV series. I also experimented with photography, another art
form I love, to create a series of black-and-white images of
nature objects with mixed media elements. These capture
a sense of the wonder and magic at Arteles and its natural
surroundings.
