About
Christina is an Italian-Australian writer living in London. She
is interested in female subjectivity, the creation/destruction
of family structures, how narratives (our own and others) can
be co-opted and altered and the impact of technology on
language and freedom. As a third-culture kid, she seeks out
opportunities to unpick the influence of environment over
personal/family identity.
Overly curious, she studied Architecture, Art History and
Philosophy before leaning into her passion for fiction. She has
interviewed actors for Spotlight, turned data into compelling
stories at Google, and has edited for the F-Word feminist
collective. She was first runner up for the Evening Standard
Short Story Competition 2022 and has been published in
Bedford Square anthology (2023), City of Stories (2022), and
the Mechanics Institute Review (2021). Previously, she was a
London Writers Awardee (2020), as well as being mentored
by author Kirsty Logan. She is deeply interested in the
practice and habit of art-making, and has taught sustainable
creativity for Spread the Word.

At Arteles, I finished a draft of my novel. At least, that is
what it appears I did. But the reality is far more nuanced
and complex, and the process was not linear. I learned a lot
about myself and my work and that the term 'finished' is not
so golden as it appears. Artists live in the world of their own
process, a world that Arteles made tangible to me in a new
way. Therefore, my practice as a writer grew immeasurably
with this experience, and I now have multiple new threads
to follow in my work. Nothing is truly 'finished'; I am more
excited than ever to continue my work.
At Arteles, she aims to finish her first novel, which follows a
female-led cult. Entitled Rabbit Hole, it explores how minority
bodies can create safety and intimacy in a threatening world.
