Brainstorming of Design Solution
Our first redesign version was shown in Fig. 17. First, we worked on improving the previous
interface shown in Fig. 1, making small changes to satisfy the user needs. Following are changes we
brainstormed:
1. Make the entire home screen more informative. The previous home screen (Fig. 1) doesn't
have many working links. In this version (Fig. 17), we added clickable sections to services
on the home screen to make the services more visible and thus, the home screen has more
affordances.
2. List the frequently used functions on the home page for quicker navigation. Users just
click once to access the services they often use (Green box 1 in Fig. 17).
3. Emphasize the location so that users can easily access the navbar (Green box 2 in Fig. 17).
4. Efficiently categorize and browse through the topics instead of long scroll-down menus.
Add conventional and intuitive icons to indicate functions for each topic (Green box 2 in
Fig. 17).
5. Make texts more readable.
